Learning & Skill Development

Individualized learning experiences that build on your child's abilities, interests, and goals.

Every child learns differently, and the kind of support that helps one child may not be what another needs. Some children benefit from strategies that help them work toward grade-level academic expectations with accommodations, while others may follow individualized or modified academic goals. For some, building practical skills for everyday life may be an equally important priority.

I work with parents to understand their child's learning needs, strengths, and goals, and explore individualized ways to support academic learning, skill development, and everyday functioning.

Areas We May Focus On

Academic Learning

  • Reading, writing, and math.

  • Reading comprehension, vocabulary, and written expression.

  • Study skills, organization, and learning strategies.

  • Strategies to support grade-level academic expectations through appropriate accommodations.

  • Reinforcement of individualized or modified academic goals.

Learning and Everyday Skills

  • Attention, focus, and following instructions.

  • Organization, planning, and problem-solving.

  • Communication and expressing needs.

  • Building independence and confidence.

  • Applying learned skills to everyday situations and routines.

What to Expect

Support is individualized and may involve sharing teaching ideas, activities, and strategies for you to use with your child at home, working directly with your child, or a combination of both.

We'll first understand what your child is working toward and where additional support may be helpful. From there, we'll explore appropriate teaching approaches and practical activities that build on your child's abilities and can be incorporated into everyday life.
